Semi-private or group courses are to be settled at the beginning of the term for the coming term.

Chèques de formation

The chèque de formation is a subsidy for adults (18 and older) offered by the Canton of Geneva. The specific  eligibility criteria can be found on this link: https://www.ge.ch/beneficier-cheque-annuel-formation.

Once the state subsidised cheque has been recorded by PEP, it is no longer possible to cancel it.
Students using a subsidised check are duly required to complete at least the 40 hours of lessons, requested by the Department of Public Education, Training and Youth (DIP). The check covers part of the fees for 40h, the outstanding amount must be paid by the student, at the beginning of the month for the month ahead.

The student must use the amount paid in one go, without interruption of the course. It is not possible to stop the course and resume it at a later time. In case the 40 hours end before the end of a term, the student taking group lessons commits to paying the cost of the remaining lessons until the end of the term, out of respect for the other students.

To be eligible for a CAF of CHF 750, the student must also register for a recognised exam (FCE, CAE, CPE, BEC). If the student does not wish to take an exam, he or she can apply for a CAF of CHF 500.

Absences

Group or semi-private lessons missed by the student will not be refunded. A group course may however be rescheduled upon request if the request is made at least one week in advance and all other students and the teacher agree to the change. PEP must be informed by email of the change request.

Private lessons can only be replaced or refunded upon request by email (at least 24 hours in advance).

If the teacher is unable to teach a class, whether it is in a group, semi-private or private, that class will be given by a substitute. If no substitute is available, the class will either be rescheduled or refunded.

Contract termination

The contract can be terminated early in case of force majeure. In this case, PEP must be informed as soon as possible and not later than fifteen working days following the event if the student wants to be able to obtain a refund of the lessons. PEP is entitled to request proof of the event.

PEP reserves the right to terminate the contract in case of force majeure such as a lack of respect by the student/company towards another student/teacher or in case of non-payment of lessons despite written/oral reminders.

One month's notice is required in the event of breach of contract, otherwise the courses invoiced for the next term will have to be paid in full. The registration form consists a serves as a binding contract.
